Jon Jones: I haven’t talked to Dana White since UFC 200
Former UFC light heavyweight champion Jon Jones will compete against Dan Henderson in a submission grappling match at Submission Underground 2 on Sunday, Dec. 11, in Portland, Oregon. Jones is currently serving a one year suspension by the United States Anti-Doping Agency for testing positive for banned substances.
Jones has been stripped of the interim light heavyweight title he won against Ovince Saint-Preux earlier this year and removed from the UFC rankings all together.
He was to headline UFC 200 against champion Daniel Cormier in July but pulled just days before the contest due to the positive test findings. Jones recently went on the Joe Rogan Experience podcast where the former champion states that he has not talked to UFC President Dana White since the incident
“I’m excited to go back and get my baby (the belt),” Jones said. “No one has spoken to me about whether I get an immediate shot or whether they make me fight at least once or twice before. I have no clue what they are actually planning on doing. I literally haven’t spoken to Dana White since fight week of UFC 200.”
Jones is eligible to return to competition in July 2017. White has stated that he will not take the chance of allowing Jones to headline a card again.
