biggest comebacks, Brock Lesnar vs Jon Jones

Jon Jones still wants ‘money fight’ with Brock Lesnar

On Saturday night at UFC 232, Jon Jones is set to make his long-awaited return to the Octagon. He is set to take on Alexander Gustafsson in Inglewood, California for the light heavyweight belt. However, even though Jones has a tough task in Gustafsson, he already has another opponent in mind. That would be a super fight between himself and former UFC heavyweight champion, Brock Lesnar.

“Fighting Brock Lesnar is always appealing,” Jones said on the UFC 232 conference call last week. “That’s a win-win situation. That’s a huge money fight. And that’s me fighting a guy who’s a hell of a lot bigger than me and everyone wins in that situation.

“I win because of the courage it takes to step in there against a guy who’s way bigger than you, I win because of the pay-per-view that will follow, the fans will win,” he added. “It would be great for the sport and it’d be good for everyone involved. So I’m totally up for that.”

Lesnar last fought at UFC 200 where he defeated Mark Hunt by unanimous decision, but it was overturned to a no-contest after he tested positive for Clomiphene. Since then, Lesnar has been back in the WWE but, a fight against Daniel Cormier for the heavyweight belt has been talked about for March. Ultimately, Lesnar is still competing in WWE, while Jones is back in MMA and would most likely be the favorite for that fight.

Jones is arguably the greatest MMA fighter in history. His only loss on his record is because he got disqualified. However, both knocks on their MMA careers will be the USADA issues. However, if they were to fight, it would arguably be one of the biggest fights in UFC history. The PPV would do well over a million, and that is why Jones is eager to fight Lesnar.

But, before he fights Gustafsson on Saturday, Jones has one final message for Lesnar.

“Brock Lesnar, you want to know what it feels like to get your ass kicked by someone 40 pounds lighter? Meet me in the Octagon,” he said.
