Jon Jones official statement following USADA suspension: “Comeback season starts now”
As the old cliche goes, ‘what a time to be alive’. Just when you thought UFC in the Fall could not get any better it just did.
Why you ask? Well, because one of the organization’s most popular and beloved superstars will finally be able to make his long awaited return back to competition.
That superstar I’m talking about is non-other than Jon “Bones” Jones.
Yep, you heard that clear fight fans. The former UFC light heavyweight champion Jon Jones is now officially eligible to compete in the octagon again. USADA most recent ruling states Jones will be able to return to action on Oct. 28, 2018 after handing him down a 15-month suspension.
Now of course you being an MMA fan upon hearing this announcement, your mind has probably already started racing about. You are wondering where, when, and who, Jones could face in his UFC return.
Well, if it makes you feel anymore excited, rumor has it that Jones could possibly headline UFC 230 in his home state of New York, now that he’ll be able to resume his MMA career next month.
Though it could be a very strong option, UFC President Dana White has come out and recently stated that Jon Jones main eventing UFC 230 is not in the organization’s plans.
Not too long after getting the good news yesterday evening, Jones put out a statement via his Twitter where expressed not only his joy but his now inevitable return to the octagon.
It’s difficult to express myself at this moment but I can definitely say my heart is filled with gratitude and appreciation. I want to thank all of you who have stood by me during the toughest stretch of my life.

While this news may excite UFC fans and some fellow UFC fighters, there were other UFC fighters who were not so joyous.
One of them in particular, was UFC double champion Daniel Cormier who furiously spouted off at USADA after getting word of the news.
A number of other UFC fighters expressed their views on the Jon Jones suspension news as well, that got some very mixed reactions.
