Jon Jones “very excited” for Fedor Emelianenko’s return, FaceTimes with the PRIDE legend
Former UFC light heavyweight champion Jon Jones FaceTimed PRIDE legend Fedor Emelianenko and said he’s “very excited” about his return to MMA.
It was announced this week that the legendary Emelianenko will return on October 23 as part of Bellator’s first event in Moscow, Russia. There has been no opponent named for Emelianenko just yet, but Bellator president Scott Coker confirmed there is a long list of free-agent fighters who are interested in fighting “The Last Emperor.” Regardless of who he faces, though, just the fact Emelianenko is fighting is always a big deal.
One fighter who is particularly excited for Emelianenko’s return is Jones. The UFC superstar — who is currently embroiled in a back-and-forth contract negotiation with the UFC regarding his heavyweight debut — recently tweeted about Emelianenko and let it be known how excited he is to see the legend step into the cage once again.
Fedor is fighting again?! Well that’s pretty exciting

Not only did “Bones” put out his tweet, but he also decided to take things a step further and truly show Emelianenko how much he respects him by FaceTiming with the PRIDE great and telling him directly.

“Hey! What’s up champ? How are you Fedor? Hey, I just want to say congratulations and welcome back. I’m very excited for you. I’ll talk to you later,” Jones said.
“Hello brother. Thank you, sir. Very good. Thank you. Thank you, my brother. Thank you,” Emelianenko said.
Emelianenko is one of the all-time greats in MMA and so is Jones, so to see these two legends of the game showing this much mutual respect to each other is definitely nice to see. We will see Emelianenko fight again this fall, and hopefully, we will find out soon who it will be against.
Are you as excited as Jon Jones is for the return of Fedor Emelianenko in MMA?
