Jorge Masvidal calls out Darren Till for UFC London; Till responds
Jorge Masvidal has his eyes on his next fight.
Masvidal, who last fought at UFC 217 in November of 2017 is looking to make his long-awaited return to the Octagon. He was originally scheduled to face Nick Diaz at UFC 235 before Diaz said he wasn’t fighting on the card. Now, Masvidal, who is on a two-fight losing streak wants to head to London to take on former welterweight title challenger, Darren Till.
@darrentill2 I hear you having the same probs I am trying to find someone to fight you in your backyard. I love fighting in other peoples backyards. I’m game if ufc can make it happen

“Darren Till, I hear you (are) having the same problems I am trying to find someone to fight you in your backyard. I love fighting in other peoples backyards. I’m game if UFC can make it happen, Masvidal tweeted at Till.
Till then replied showing some interest in the fight.

Masvidal, as mentioned, is coming off of a long layoff and looking to get back into the win column. Meanwhile, Till had an incredible run to the top of the welterweight rankings.
The Englishman went 3-0-1 in his first four UFC fights. Then, Till took on Donald Cerrone in which he shocked the world by winning the fight by TKO in the first round. He then rode that wave to another main event in his hometown of Liverpool against top contender Stephen Thompson in which Till narrowly defeated Thompson by decision. Albeit the decision was a controversial one.
Following his win over Thompson, Till was put into a title shot at UFC 228 against Tyron Woodley in which Woodley simply dominated Till. Till barely landed any punches and Woodley dropped Till before submitting him in the second round. After the fight, Till mentioned the move to welterweight. However, if he does indeed fight Masvidal next, it would appear he would be sticking at welterweight after all.
UFC London takes place March 16 and is still without a main event. No question if the UFC matchmaker can book this fight, Till can once again headline in England. The fight just makes too much sense not to happen. Both fighters need a win to rebound and start their climb to a title shot.
