Jorge Masvidal: “Unretired”
Are we writing an entire article on a one word tweet? You bet your sweet cheeks we are. Jorge Masvidal could be returning and has sparked rumors with a one word tweet on X.
Unretired

Jorge Masvidal, the original BMF, could be back and fans are mixed on his potential return.
Who does Jorge Masvidal fight in his return?
The question then turns to who Jorge Masvidal fights in his return to competition, if he’s not pulling everyone’s chain. Ideas like Leon Edwards have been thrown around but Masvidal has lost four straight fights and deserves precisely zero title shots.
The clear answer is a rematch with Nate Diaz. Diaz has thrown out his desire to fight on UFC 300 also.
UFC 300 would be tight but there’s nobody to fight

Masvidal and Diaz famously fought for the original BMF title in 2019 at UFC 244. Masvidal won that fight via doctor’s stoppage.
Another option is Justin Gaethje. Gaethje won the second BMF belt with his spectacular knockout of Dustin Poirier last year. A “unification” could be on the cards. Jorge Masvidal is not a large welterweight and formerly fought at 155. The weight is up to Masvidal, Gaethje and the UFC but this fight could be a mega bout that sees Masvidal seeking revenge for his teammate Dustin Poirier.
Last is Masvidal playing backup for Michael Chandler and Conor McGregor, who announced his return to competition on New Years Day. This one is a long shot but could be part of Masvidal’s plan. He’s long wanted a shot at the Irish McGregor for a mega fight. A win on the same card as McGregor, however, could set up a huge pay per view.
At the end of the day, Jorge Masvidal could just be teasing everyone. But a return to competition is tantalizing and would spark interest in a UFC 300 card that is still looking for fights to make.
