Jorge Masvidal’s father arrested on second degree attempted murder charges
Jorge Masvidals’ father, Jorge Masvidal Sr., was arrested early Friday morning after a shooting at his son’s home. The recently retired UFC fight was not home or involved in the incident law enforcement officials state.
The elder Masvidal has been booked on second-degree attempted murder charges with a deadly weapon/firearm after one victim was shot in the upper extremities before being taken to a local hospital for treatment but was in stable condition.
Masvial Sr., 67, was booked into jail at 1:33 a.m. on May 5 and he remains in holding at this time, according to online records.
Luis Leoncini is the name of the victim that was identified. He was shot in both arms and was treated for his injuries.
Masvidal Sr. was arrested without incident and police later found a .38 caliber revolver inside a kitchen cabinet in the home, according to reports.
