Jose Zepeda vs. Regis Prograis: Fight of the Year?

Jose Zepeda knows what kind of fighter Regis Prograis is. His expierence in the World Boxing Super Series has turned Prograis into a stone cold killer. Zepeda also wants to point out that he has been in some wars as well. Remember the Ivan Baranchyk fight? Jose Zepeda feels like he’s ready for the tough fight on the night.

“I don’t think I have to tell you if he’s brave or not. You guys know that. I don’t have to tell you that I’m brave. If anything happens, I’m going to get up and go back to fighting, and he’s going to do the same thing.”

It’s that going through the fire that has Zepeda believing in himself to be able to come out alive once the fight begins. He’s been in bad spaces and come back strong. He knows that Prograis has been there too and that’s what has him excited about this fight.

“If he gets dropped, he’s going to come back. That’s why I keep saying ‘Fight of the year,’ and all the boxing experts know that.”

Zepeda is hoping the third time is the charm when it comes to becoming a World Champion. With a 35-2-2 NC record, Zepeda has only dropped fights in World Title bouts. His two losses came from Jose Ramirez by majority decision and to Terry Flanagan due to an injury. But he thinks the exciting fights he’s put on has got him back to the world stage for a third time.

“That only gives me more motivation,” says Jose Zepeda. “If I was able to get three opportunities for a world title, it means I’m doing things right.

Don’t miss out on Jose Zepeda going for a World Title this weekend; November 26th at 9PM EST live on FITE.tv!
