Josh Burkman vs Dong Hyun Kim booked for UFC 187
The card for UFC 187 is nearly complete as the 11th match has been confirmed with a welterweight showdown between Dong Hyun Kim against Josh Burkman. UFC 187 is scheduled May 23rd (Memorial Day weekend) at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada. The card is looking stacked already with two championship bouts and many ranked fighters, now add ninth ranked Hyun Kim.
Josh Burkman (27-11) rejoined the UFC losing to Hetor Lombard via decision in January’s UFC 182. Burkman was let go by the UFC back in 2008 after losing three straight fights, and would fight for many organizations, including Showdown Fights and WSOF. Burkman would accrue a 9-2 record before the UFC resigned the TUF season 2 cast member.
Dong Hyun Kim (19-3-1, 1 NC) was on a four-fight tear which came to an abrupt end when he met Tyron Woodley in August’s UFC Fight Night in China, where Woodley would score a TKO victory over Kim in just 61 seconds. Kim has enjoyed a successful career in the UFC going 10-3-1 (and one no contest), and he looks to get back on track to his winning ways and climb further in the welterweight rankings where he currently sits at number nine.
