Josh Fremd talks UFC Vegas 78 win and plans to resign with the UFC
Josh Fremd needed a win at UFC Vegas 78 and he was able to do that. Now he awaits what’s next.
His victory over Jamie Pickett came in a great way as he was able to win all three rounds on the judges scorecards for a unanimous decision win.
Throughout the fight, Fremd was the better grappled as he dominated positions, would attempt a few submission attempts and if Pickett ever got himself into a decent position, Fremd would scramble and reserve the positions very quickly.
Getting his raised for a second straight fight felt great for Fremd, but now he has to play the waiting game as to what his future holds.
As Fremd told MyMMANews in an interview ahead of fight, UFC Vegas 78 marked the final fight on Fremd’s UFC contract and now his management team at Iridium Sports Agency, will negotiate with the UFC to try and workout a second contract.
Fremd has made it clear that he wants to remain in the UFC and he hopes the promotion will resign him as opposed to testing free agency.
In fact, not only does Fremd want to resign with the UFC, but he feels great and wants to have a quick turnaround and fight again as soon as possible.
Fremd has been putting in great work at Factory X in Colorado and the results are showing. As Fremd is feeling good and his confidence is at an all time high, he wants to try and ride the momentum and rattle off another win by the end of the year.
Following his UFC Vegas 78 win, Fremd once again spoke with MyMMANews to discuss his performance, his contract negations and the upcoming NFL football season as Fremd is a huge fan of his hometown Pittsburgh Steelers.
