Josh Fremd talks upcoming fight at UFC Noche and new UFC contract
Josh Fremd left the octagon after his last fight at UFC Vegas 78 as a free agent.
After that fight, Fremd did an interview with MyMMANews and he made it clear that he wanted to be resigned by the UFC and that he wanted to remain active.
A few days later, Fremd was sitting in his Colorado home and was online looking to book a flight back home to Pittsburg, PA to see his family. That’s when he got a great phone call.
Fremd’s manager called him to tell him not to book a flight home because the UFC offered him a new contract and fight at UFC Noche on Sept. 16.
UFC Noche is slated to be a big event for the UFC as it will mark the UFC’s first ever Mexican Independence Day card and it will be headlined with a women’s UFC flyweight championship fight between Mexican champ Alexa Grasso and former longtime champion Valentina Shevchenko.
For Fremd, his upcoming fight at UFC Noche, will come just over a month from his last fight, but Fremd loves that it’s that quick of a turnaround.
Typically, Fremd enjoys some time outside of the cage after a fight, but now he’s been grounded at the gym and is riding the momentum he’s had this year as he’s won both of his fights this year.
Up next for Fremd is Russian fighter Roman Kopylov. Fremd loves the matchup and he’s thinks he’s going to get the finish.
The vibes are definitely high for Fremd and part of that is because of his gym’s success at Factory X as Fremd and Anthony Smith have both recently posted wins, a few teammates have fights coming up and Brandon Royval is in talks to fight for the UFC flyweight championship.
Prior to UFC Noche, Fremd spoke with MyMMANews to discuss his upcoming fight, his new UFC contract, his gym’s success and the upcoming NFL season.
You can watch his full interview in the video above.
