Julian Erosa discusses his upcoming UFC Vegas 66 fight against Alex Caceres
Julian Erosa came out of his September fight at UFC 278 with a number of great things.
Mostly importantly he came out of the fight with a dominate unanimous decision victory over Hakeem Dawodu and he suffered no damage to leave the octagon injury free.
Prior to that fight, Dawodu missed weight, so Erosa also left with some extra money as Dawodu was forced to forfeit a percentage of his fight purse for weighing in over the featherweight limit.
After earning extra money and a win, the UFC was impressed with the hot streak Erosa is on so immediately following his win, the promotion offered him a brand new UFC contact.
Since Erosa came out of the fight injury free and the promotion was willing to resign him so quickly, Erosa knew shortly after the fight that he wanted to fight again as soon as possible and he wanted to do so within the calendar year.
At first he tried to fight in November, but the cards were pretty much filled up so that would never materialized. Instead the UFC turned to their last card of 2022 and offered Erosa a matchup at UFC Vegas 66.
Erosa gladly accepted the offer and now he will be apart of a big fight against Alex Caceres in which the winner should be looking at chance to crack the featherweight rankings in the new year.
Prior to UFC Vegas 66, Erosa spoke with MyMMANews to discuss his decision to book a fight so quickly after his last win, his matchup with Caceres and his outlook on the future of the featherweight division.
