Julie Kedzie previews Invicta FC 51 and discusses latest UFC news
With Invicta FC 51 set to take place on Wednesday, January 18 and a double title fight feature, color commentator, UFC veteran, and women’s MMA pioneer Julie Kedzie joined MyMMANews to break it all down.
Spending the last 10 years calling the action in the Invicta FC booth, Julie Kedzie brings a unique perspective in her broadcast style. Speaking from experience of a women’s MMA fighter, getting to know each and every woman on the card and their personal stories that make them as special as they are, it’s an empowering listen each and every single time.
The main event of Invicta FC 51 sees reigning and defending bantamweight champion Taneisha Tennant will look to retain her title against veteran and UFC alum Talita Bernardo.
The second of the two title fights will come in the co-main event as the vacant flyweight title is on the line as Bellator MMA veteran Kristina Williams looks to extend her winning streak with the promotion to three, and add the title in the process. Williams will face Ketlen Souza who made her Invicta FC promotional debut back in September of 2022 at Invicta FC 49, where she picked up an unanimous decision victory over Maiju Suotama.
There are several other must-see fights on the card including Serena DeJesus vs Olga Rubin in what could be seen as a bantamweight title eliminator on the same night that the belt is on the line.
Also included in the conversation, Julie Kedzie shared her thoughts on some of the most recent news in the UFC, including the release of former heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou and the controversy surrounding Dana White.
Watch the video above to hear Kedzie discuss the entire Dana White situation, the future of Francis Ngannou, and where he might be headed following his departure from the UFC.
