Junior Rubi on CFN 1 Muay Thai: “One of us is probably going to sleep”
Junior Rubi is nothing short of a pure fighter. Growing up with a Muay Thai background, standup striking is all he knew and all he cared to know. Having several bouts under his belt, he saw the opportunity to fight on an mixed martial arts card with some of the best in the business, being front row, and eyes focused on him. For that reason, he made the jump into MMA for a one off. He took a loss via armbar to Eddy Torres at Cowboy Fight Series 1. After gathering the eyes of the fans and attention of the brass, Rubi is back for Cowboy Fight Night 1-Muay Thai Series.
Standing across from him is another Cowboy Fight Series alum Mohammad Ali, who is predominantly an MMA fighter. Ali is coming off of a narrow loss earlier this month to Matt Hicks at Cowboy Fight Series 3. Rubi prides himself on being a traditional thai fighter expects to implement his game plan saying “I know where I can hurt this kid. This bout truly has potential ‘Fight of the Night’ written all over it as these two warriors have the utmost respect but the killers instinct to lay it all on the line, and they get to do it in just a few days.
