DWTNCS Season 2 Contestent Justin “The Fort” Sumter Ready To Put On Show
With Dana White’s Tuesday Night Contender Series having so much success in the first season, birthing future stars like Shane O’Malley, Zu Anyanwu, Kurt Holobaugh, Benito Lopez to name a few, it is no wonder why fight fans around the world are thirsty for a second season with fresh new faces. Among the recent names that broke to be on season 2, Connecticut based fighter Justin Sumter stood out to most locals due to his exciting first round finishing style as he trains under Nick Newell. In case anyone who is reading this isn’t aware, Newell was also given a shot on this season during week 6.
Currently on a six fight win streak, Sumter was preparing for a CES 50 fight against former UFC veteran Ron Stallings but with the UFC knocking at the door it was unclear if Justin would be aiming to fight both events. July 31st marks week 7 of season 2 where Sumter (6-1) will take on Colorado’s and LFA’s own, Ian Heinisch (10-1) who carries more of a KO fight style compared to Sumter submission specialty.
EVil Eddie of Pure EVil MMA had the pleasure to talk with Justin Sumter to get a feel for what the vibe at the “Fighting Arts Academy” in West Haven Connecticut, was like with the excitement of two fighters in the same gym getting the opportunity of a lifetime.
