Kai Kara-France vs. Amir Albazi booked for Fight Night card in June

Kai Kara-France will look to return to the win column in June.

On Monday, Amir Albazi took to social media to announce he has been booked against Kara-France on a Fight Night card on June 3. The event currently does not have a location or a main event at this time.

Kai Kara-France (24-10) suffered a third-round TKO loss to Brandon Moreno for the interim flyweight title at UFC 277 last July. Prior to that, the Kiwi picked up an upset win over Askar Askarov while also scoring fist-round knockout wins over Cody Garbrandt and Rogerio Bontorin.

Kara-France is currently ranked third at flyweight and is 7-3 in the UFC. Inside the Octagon, the Kiwi also holds notable wins over Tyson Nam and Raulian Paiva while his other two losses came by decision to Moreno in 2019 and a submission loss to Brandon Royval. Kara-France was supposed to fight at UFC 284 in February against Alex Perez but he suffered an injury that forced him to pull out of the scrap.

Amir Albazi (16-1) is a perfect 4-0 in the UFC and is coming off a third-round TKO win over Alessandro Castro. Prior to that, the 29-year-old scored a first-round submission win over Francisco Figueiredo. In the UFC, Albazi also has a decision win over Zhalgas Zhumagulov and a submission win over Malcolm Gordon in the UFC.

Prior to signing with the Las Vegas-based promotion, Albazi fought in Brave CF with his lone career loss coming by UFC veteran Jose Torres by decision. Albazi is currently ranked seventh at flyweight.

With the addition of Kara-France vs. Albazi, the June 3 Fight Night card is as follows:

  • Miesha Tate vs. Mayra Bueno Silva
  • Kai Kara-France vs. Amir Albazi
