Kairat Akhmetov – “I’m expecting the fight to be full of blood”
Fighting out of Almaty, Kazakhstan and making his ninth appearance with ONE Championship, “The Kazakh” Kairat Akhmetov (28-2) will meet a man with just as much, if not more professional combat sports experience this Friday in Singapore.
Standing across the circle at ONE: 158 on June 3 will be “The Sweeper” Tatsumitsu Wada (24-11-2), fighting out of Japan. Wada has already recorded one victory under his belt this calendar year, while Akhmetov has yet to compete in 2022.
“I’m expecting the fight to be full of blood,” Akhmetov said of the pending contest. “I’m expecting to show that I’m in great shape. I’ve prepared to the maximum for the fights and I’m expecting to show a spectacular fight for my fans.”
This flyweight contest puts the winner one step closer to a title shot, something Akhmetov has been after ever since losing the gold in 2017.
