Katsuya Kitamura, MMA fighter and pro wrestler, dead at 36

Katsuya Kitamura, 36, passed away on October 12th with the former wrestler felt “unwell” and called an ambulance.

The cause of the former professional mixed martial artist and pro wrestler’s death is still currently unknown.

“The Wrestling Monster” Kitamura stood six feet tall and weighed 265 pounds.

He wrestled at Senshu University and competed as a heavyweight for Japan at the World Championships in 2006. He became a three-time champion in Greco-Roman wrestling and won the All-Japan Wrestling Championship. Kitamura tested positive for anabolic steroids and was banned for two years, resulting in him not being eligible for the Olympic games.

Kitamura started wrestling professionally in 2017 with New Japan Pro Wrestling.

In MMA, Kitamura held an 0-1 record with a loss to Bobby Ologun at RIZIN 32 last year.

Kitamura also had a YouTube channel named “Bulk Academy Katsuya Kitamura,” where he posted videos about his bodybuilding and wrestling.
