Kevin Holland tops career-year with highlight-reel knockout

It’s tough to argue anyone had a better year than Kevin Holland after he earned his fifth win of 2020 by knocking out Ronaldo Souza at UFC 256 this Saturday, Dec. 12.

If that’s not enough, Holland finished Holland from his butt inside the UFC Apex in Las Vegas, Nevada

Souza took the fight to the ground early in round one, but Holland showed no worries. Holland landed a right hook from his butt and rocked Souza. Souza bent backwards and Holland finished the fight with rights hands from there.

No matter who is the winner of the UFC 256 main event, Deiveison Figuieredo is making history.

The 125-pound king makes the quickest turnaround ever as a champion against Brandon Moreno inside the UFC Apex in Las Vegas, Nevada. It marks the same location where he made his first title defense by submitting Alex Perez in the first round at UFC 255 on Nov. 21.

The former UFC interim champion Tony Ferguson looks to rebound from a fifth-round TKO loss to Justin Gaethje back in May, taking on the surging Charles Oliveira in the co-main event.

On the main card, Kevin Holland finally gets a top-15 ranked opponent like he asked for. After a false positive test removed him from his UFC on ESPN 19 main event with Jack Hermannson, Holland takes on long-time veteran in Ronaldo Souza.

Holland became the first UFC fighter to four wins in 2020 after a first-round verbal submission win against Charlie Ontiveros at UFC Fight Night 181.

The 28-year-old finished three of his last four opponents this calendar year. His victories include wins against Darren Stewart, Joaquin Buckley and Anthony Hernandez.

Souza is yet to compete in 2020. His scheduled bout with Uriah Hall at UFC 249 in May was scrapped after he tested positive for COVID-19. “Jacare” is on a two-fight skid with decision losses to Hermansson and now-champion Jan Blachowicz.
