With International Fight Week right around the corner, most mixed martial arts fans are looking forward to UFC 213 on Saturday July 8. Fighters on the card are continuing to train and gain an edge walking into the octagon that evening. One of those fighters, Belal Muhammad is no different. His sparring partner, Kevin Nowaczyk, offers a very good look mirroring Muhammad’s opponent, Jordan Mein.
“My style is very similar to [Mein’s],” Nowaczyk responds.
“It’s just adding a little tweaking to it. He throws some elbows and scrambles and stuff like that, so I’m trying to accommodate to that. And its going to help me work elbows for my next fight.”
During their training together, Muhammad contacted First Round Management on Nowaczyk’s behalf and after a few conversations, Nowaczyk had signed with the management group.
Nowaczyk fights out of Hoosier Fight Club in Indiana. Most fight fans remember him from The Ultimate Fighter season 16 and his loss against Dominic Waters in 2012.
“The biggest loss of my career was that [loss on TUF] it was the biggest downfall for myself,” said Nowaczyk.
“But I knew right away I wasn’t going to let it deter me for my next fight after that. If anything it just made me emotionally and mentally tougher for the next training camp.”
Nowaczyk is represented by Abraham Kawa, Senior Vice President of First Round Management.
