Khabib Nurmagomedov offered role as assistant to the Head of Dagestan
UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov has reportedly been offered a position as assistant to the Head of the Republic of Dagestan, Vladimir Vasilyev.
Whether the best 155-pound fighter on the planet takes the position or not remains to be seen, but the offer is on the table.
“Yes, [I received an offer to become an assistant to the Head of Dagestan], but we will discuss this at the next meeting, [which] we will have soon,” Nurmagomedov said, as translated by Karim Zidan of BloodyElbow.com.
Nurmagomedov met with Vasilyev earlier this week and was presented with the Order of Merit for the Republic of Dagestan. Guests in attendance included Dagestani political figures including Acting Deputy Prime Minister Anatoly Karibov, Acting Minister for Physical Culture and Sports of the Region Magomed Magomedov, and Acting Minister of Labor and Social Development Rasul Ibrahimov.
