Khabib Nurmagomedov plans to take Justin Gaethje into ‘the deepest ocean and drown him’ at UFC 254

Khabib Nurmagomedov believes he will beat Justin Gaethje as he does to all his opponents. That is simply taking them into the deep waters and drowning him.

Nurmagomedov, who is currently 28-0 is set to return to the Octagon on Oct. 24 in the main event of UFC 254 to battle the interim champion in Gaethje. It is a fight many fans are looking forward to and one many pundits say will be Nurmagomedov’s toughest test.

The undefeated Dagestani champion is returning to the Octagon just months after his father passed away due to complications from COVID-19. So, his heart will be full but that isn’t stopping Khabib Nurmagomedov from doing what he does and that is mauling opponents.

UFC commentator, Joe Rogan posted a video of Gaethje working out where Nurmagomedov responded in the comments.

“Justin is a very nice guy and a good opponent for me. But, when Octagon close he have to be ready not only boxing match, I’m not Dustin or Tony. I will take him to the deepest ocean and drown him. InshaAllah,” Nurmagomedov wrote.

Khabib Nurmagomedov last fought back at UFC 242 last September where he submitted Dustin Poirier to defend his lightweight title. Before that, he submitted Conor McGregor in the fourth round for his first title defense. He won the vacant title at UFC 223 with a decision win over Al Iaquinta.

Nurmagomedov was expected to fight Tony Ferguson in April but due to the COVID-19 pandemic he was stuck in Russia and the fight and event were canceled.

Justin Gaethje, meanwhile, ended up replacing Nurmagomedov and beat Ferguson by fifth-round TKO. It was a very impressive performance for “The Highlight” and now enters this fight with a lot of hype behind him.

For many MMA fans, October 24 can’t come soon enough so we can see Khabib Nurmagomedov fight Justin Gaethje.
