Khalil Rountree: Maximum Violence
Khalil Rountree is a violent MFer. He does occasionally lay an egg, but he is more prone to bloodletting than not. I’m 2019, Rountree beat the daylights out of Eryk Anders. After that, Rountree lost himself a bit, losing to Ion Cutelaba and Marchin Prachino.
But in recent years, he’s been on a rear. After a sidekick to the knee of Modestas Bukauskas, a gruesome finish, he returned for a fight with Karl Roberson. That fight earned him an honorable mention for My MMA News’ Ass Whoopin’ of the Year award.
His last fight was a slower affair with Dustin Jacoby, a close fight with a kickboxer which he won via split decision.
Now, 13th ranked Khalil Rountree looks to notch his fourth straight win, which would be the longest of his career inside the UFC.
Chris Daukaus: A New Home at 205 – UFC Vegas 78
Chris Daukaus is down on hard times going into UFC Vegas 78. After devastating losses to Derrick Lewis, Curtis Blaydes and Jairzinho Rozenstruick in his last three, Daukaus looks to find a new home and a new groove down at 205.
Upon joining the UFC, Daukaus won four straight beating Parker Porter, Rodrigo Nascimento, Aleksei Oleinik, and Shamil Abdurakhimov. But after going on his three fight skid and seeing his way to the title put to a grinding halt, Daukaus will hopefully bring a good fight to UFC Vegas 78.
It’s do or die for Chris Daukaus. And his opponent is a tough one. But coming down in weight could benefit him, give him more of a power advantage and possibly provide his biggest win to date.
