Khasan Magomedsharipov on Mark Henry lessons pre-Bellator 275
Khasan Magomedsharipov clashes with Jose Sanchez at Bellator 275 on February 25th. The main card featherweight fight emanates from 3Arena in Dublin, Ireland, and will broadcast on Showtime.
Magomedsharipov looks to improve his spotless professional record to 7-0 in the coming days. This is the sophomore performance under the Bellator MMA banner for Zabit’s brother.
Conversely, Sanchez went 11-0 to kick off his mixed martial arts endeavors.
He tasted defeat for the first time in his last outing. Jose Sanchez aims to start carving out a new streak and return to the win column as he readies to make his promotional debut with Bellator.
I spoke with Magomedsharipov at a pre-fight virtual media call. Excerpts from our interaction are below.
Khasan Magomedsharipov
Khasan’s first time seeing MMA and when he was inspired to compete
“To be honest, since childhood. I don’t know why. Maybe because I always grew up in this community or surrounded myself with my brother Zabit, his friends. All our friends, our brothers, everyone is training, fighting. So I believe since childhood I always, even before I started training, I always wanted to be a fighter.”
The great work that has been had with Mark Henry and what that has added to Magomedsharipov’s game overall
“Yeah, of course, I grew up as a fighter. As a person, as a human being with Mark Henry. The first time I got to go to Mark Henry’s gym, I was 18 years old kid. And since then, I was evolving in my striking and everything. The type of training Mark Henry has, it’s very hard not to grow because he’s working with everyone individually. And then I was sparring with the high-level fighters, the UFC fighters. So yeah, I grew up as a fighter, as a human being, as everything with Mark. And I’m very grateful for him.”
