Khonry Gracie Bellator 252 Pre-Fight Interview
Bellator 252 will host the The Featherweight World Grand Prix as it closes out the quarter-final rounds with two five-round bouts. First up a rematch between Daniel Weichel and Emmanuel Sanchez, then the main event sees double champ Patricio ‘Pitbull’ Freire put his featherweight gold up for grabs against Pedro Carvalho.

Royce Gracie’s son was victorious in his mixed martial arts debut as an amateur, and since signing with Bellator has went 2-1 inside the cage making his last appearance at Bellator 225: Mitrione vs. Kharitonov 2, in 2019 August 24th. Khonry Gracie was also scheduled to fight at Bellator 238, but was ultimately ruled out of that due to injury. When Gracie, made his professional debut in the sport early 2018, needless to say all eyes were on him. Gracie made the walk to the Bellator cage at the L.A. Forum, part of Bellator 192 in January. The decision, on the other hand, did not go in his favor.
Unlike a few members of the traditional family, Khonry Gracie didn’t compete in any jiu-jitsu tournaments prior to making his amateur mixed martial arts debut “because tournaments are all about points,” he explains. “Today it’s maybe some of the best guys in the world finish in submissions, but most people in tournaments today don’t submit, they win by point system. It does nothing to do with what I wanna do, which is MMA.”
This Thursday he will take on promotional newcomer Trevor Gudde, the fight will take place on Bellator’s prelims.
