King of the Cage “Locked In” Results from Sugarhouse Casino
King of the Cage held “Locked In” from the Sugarhouse Casino in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, October 28.
In the main event, light heavyweight champion Jason Butcher defended against Jesse Murray. Butcher was on a two-fight win streak with King of the Cage. His last loss came at Bellator 134 where he was submitted by Tamdan McCrory. Murray carried a three-fight win streak into the cage, two with King of the Cage. Tonight’s fight was stopped in the first round after unanswered strikes. Butcher retained his belt.
In the evening’s co-main event, former KOTC women’s atomweight champion Bi Nguyen faced Lindsey VanZandt.
“KillHer Bee” Nguyen won the title in May defeating now former champion Andy Nguyen at KOTC “Groundbreaking.” She then lost it her first defense VanZandt entered the championship fight with a perfect 2-0 professional record. She defeated Rachel Sazoff at Maverick MMA 3 in September.
VanZandt would win a split decision victory tonight over the former champion, moving to 3-0 as a pro.
Ryan Cafaro meets Chris Humes-Mitchell, and Eddie Alvarez and Tommy Espinosa meet in a flyweight pairing.
