Laura Sanko announces she’s become a licensed judge in state of Missouri
UFC commentator and analyst Laura Sanko recently announced she’s become a licensed judge in the state of Missouri.
The ever-expanding and highly respected resume of Laura Sanko is continuing to grow. Sanko, who serves as an analyst and host on multiple ESPN UFC shows, as a commentator for Dana White’s Contender Series, and backstage reporter during UFC events, will now add a very important role. On Wednesday, Sanko, who has become not just a staple of UFC coverage but MMA as a whole, announced that she has become a licensed judge and official in the state of Missouri.
Getting the certification as a registered official for the state of Missouri means that Laura Sanko will be able to judge combat sporting events in the state, and with the platform that she already has, she could bring awareness and education to how fights are scored. In her role as a both a commentator and analyst, Sanko has been one of the very best when it comes to in-fight details and explanations, as well as giving viewers insights to the fighters when she’s conducting interviews. Now, she’ll have the opportunity to put herself in the driver seat of combat sports judging and hopefully continue to build progress on such a debated topic.
During an appearance on ‘Unlocking The Cage‘ on Sirius XM’s Fight Nation, Laura Sanko made the news official, saying that she officially became licensed in the state of Missouri last week.
"I am now, as of last week, a licensed official in the state of Missouri."

“I am now, as of last week, a licensed official in the state of Missouri. I’m not a referee, I am however a judge. I did the 8 hours of course work and passed my test. So yeah, yours truly is a judge. I also did the referee class but becoming a referee, there’s other classes involved that I don’t have time to go to.”
Already acknowledged and respected as one of the brightest minds in all of combat sports, Laura Sanko will only help the conversation of judging and scoring fights as she becomes hands-on involved in the state of Missouri.
