Laura Sanko set to return to commentary at UFC Vegas 69
Laura Sanko will be back in the broadcast booth.
Sanko made her commentary debut at UFC Vegas 68 on February 4 and will return to the booth this Saturday at UFC Vegas 69. The news was reported by ESPN who sent out the details of the broadcast booth. The main event of the card sees Jessica Andrade take on Erin Blanchfield at women’s flyweight.
The news is exciting for Sanko who has made it clear commentary has been a goal of hers and is honored she gets the chance to call UFC fights again.
“I feel the responsibility of the new, more elevated role, and I think commentary in general is a big responsibility,” Sanko told MMA Fighting. “Because at the end of the day, you are trying to connect the fighting art, that an athlete has poured their heart and soul into, to an audience that can’t see or feel or touch it in real time, and you’re the conduit to connect that art with the people at home, which sounds a little bit high and mighty, but it’s a big responsibility, and I take it really seriously, and I’m incredibly honored to be able to be in a position to do that for the men and women on the UFC roster.”
UFC Vegas 69 is set to air on ESPN+ with the prelims starting at 4 p.m. ET and the main card airing at 7 p.m. ET.
