Leah McCourt and Aviv Gozali Bellator 259 post-fight presser
Bellator 259 went down on Friday, May 21st. The pugilistic proceedings emanated from Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Connecticut, and broadcasted on Showtime. At the post-event presser, I spoke with Leah McCourt and Aviv Gozali after their respective victories.
McCourt earned a second-round triangle choke win over Janay Harding in a battle of ranked featherweight fighters.
Gozali secured a heel hook victory in the opening round of his lightweight contest. This transpired less than a minute and a half into his prizefight against Sean Felton.

I was noticing just a bit earlier in the scrum here, you were saying that you were hoping your daughter was proud of the performance.
Are there any post-fight celebration plans with Isabella that you have in store there?
“Just to go home and spend time with her and be in her presence. She’s the most special girl in the world. She’s my biggest achievement. Honestly, she’s just such a special girl. I’m a single mom. I’m trying to provide for her. Make her have a better life than others and everything I do is for her. But again, this is God’s hand. And I give all of the glory to him in this victory.”
I noticed your father being in your corner tonight. Obviously, Haim Gozali, a legend of Israeli mixed martial arts.
I’m kind of wondering how important it is for you to be a second-generation fighter? Just representing Israel, carving out your legacy?
“I am feeling so happy to keep his legacy alive. And like I said I said to him before the fight. ‘I’m doing this for you. For your legacy’. I am so happy. He is feeling so happy. He just went upstairs. I’m waiting to see him again to talk about the fight.”
