Lightweights Hubbard and Solecki meet at UFC’s June 20 event
A lightweight bout between Austin Hubbard and Joe Solecki is the latest addition to UFC’s June 20 event.
A source close to the situation informed MYMMANEWS of the booking on Thursday, June 4. The person will remain anonymous since the promotion has yet to make an official announcement.
Hubbard is fresh off a unanimous decision loss to Mark O. Madsen at UFC 248 on March 7. The 28-year-old is 1-2 inside the octagon with his lone octagon victory sandwiched between losses.
He defeated Kyle Prepolec by unanimous decision at UFC on ESPN+ 16 in September 2019.
Solecki is fresh off a successful UFC debut, defeating Matt Wiman by unanimous decision at UFC on ESPN 7 in December 2019. Solecki earned a UFC contract after submitting James Wallace with a first-round guillotine choke on Dana White’s Contender Series in July 2019.
The 26-year-old is unbeaten in his last four contests.
Pending on the Nevada Athletic Commission’s approval, the event is expected to take place at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas, Nevada.
The promotion held UFC on ESPN 9 at the Apex on Saturday, May 30. It marked the first UFC event to take place in Las Vegas during the COVID-19 pandemic. UFC 250 is taking place at the Apex this Saturday, June 6.
