Prior to the fight, we spoke to Luis Tavares, where he discussed what may be next for him. With the win last night, Tavares stated that he is looking for a light-heavyweight championship bout.
Since returning to GLORY in 2018, Tavares has been eyeing a rematch with the current champion, Artem Vakhitov. With his win last night, it looks like he will get his wish and have the opportunity to avenge a loss against Vakhitov.
In the co-main event of the evening, we saw a back-and-forth war between newly signed Ibrahim El Bouni and Clyde Brunswijk. After three hard-fought rounds, El Bouni walked away with the unanimous decision victory.
Also on the card was a welterweight scrap which ended with Regilio van den Ent landing a body shot that left Joe Johnson face down on the canvas.
