Luke Rockhold on Chris Weidman rematch: “There won’t be a third fight”
UFC 230 on November 3 is going to be a star-studded event filled with quality matchups, and a card that continues to develop.
But there’s one fight in particular that UFC fans will look forward to that night, a rematch between a pair of former UFC middleweight champions as Luke Rockhold faces Chris Weidman.
The fight has been four years in the making, as the two fought previously back in December 2015 where Rockhold defeated Weidman for the UFC middleweight title.
Now that he will get his chance at redemption, Weidman looks to settle the score against he old championship rival.
If Weidman is indeed able to even things up with Rockhold at UFC 230, there is a slight possibility we could witness a trilogy between the two later on in the future.
While that could something UFC fans could see, Rockhold on the other hand thinks otherwise, as as matter fact he feels there will be no need for it after the rematch with Weidman at UFC 230.
Making that message a bit more clear, Rockhold officially stated the claim directly in a response to a fan on Twitter, saying there would not be any reason for a third fight between the two.
“There won’t be a third fight,” Rockhold stated.
