Mackenzie Dern shares cheeky health tip

UFC strawweight Mackenzie Dern (14-5) shared a cheeky health tip on Thursday.

The 31-year-old Brazilian mixed martial artist posted a photo of her near fully exposed bottom with the caption “Make sure to use sunscreen ☀️👙🫶🏼”

More than 90 percent of skin cancers are caused by sun exposure. Skin cancers are divided into two major groups: nonmelanoma and melanoma. Nonmelanoma skin cancers (usually basal cell and squamous cell) are the most common cancers of the skin.

Melanoma is a kind of skin cancer that starts in the melanocytes. Melanocytes are cells that make the pigment that gives skin its color. The pigment is called melanin. Melanoma typically starts on skin that’s often exposed to the sun. This includes the skin on the arms, back, face and legs.

Here a few tips on how you can practice sun safety:

Stay in the shade.
Wear clothing that covers your arms and legs.
Wear a hat with a wide brim to shade your face, head, ears, and neck.
Wear sunglasses that wrap around and block both UVA and UVB rays.
Use a broad-spectrum sunscreen with a sun protection factor (SPF) of 15 or higher.
