The biggest fight in KSW history and one of the biggest fights ever in Europe will go down at XTB KSW 77 on December 17 in Gliwice, Poland, as former KSW middleweight & light heavyweight champion Mamed Khalidov (35-8-2) faces five-time world’s strongest man Mariusz Pudzianowski (17-7).

The fight was officially announced earlier today at a press conference in Warsaw, Poland, where we saw the two KSW icons have their first face-off on a rooftop overlooking the city.

Both men, thanks to their popularity and performances, have been credited with the success of KSW and have been pillars for the growth & popularity of MMA across Europe over the past two decades.

Khalidov is widely regarded as one of the best fighters never to compete in the UFC and his legendary twenty-fight undefeated run in KSW between 2007 and 2017 is highly praised as one of the greatest streaks in the history of the sport. The 42-year-old has also won KSW titles across three different decades in two different weight classes.

Pudzianowski has had a different route in his MMA career. After dominating the sport of strongman, winning a record breaking five world’s strongest man titles, he made his MMA debut in 2009. Since his debut we have witnessed the evolution of his fighting ability and over the years he has beaten UFC & Pride veterans, Olympic medalists, and former KSW champions. The 45-year-old is currently on a five-fight win-streak, all TKO/KO finishes, the best run of his MMA career.

This fight is set to become the most expensive fight in European MMA history and will also begin a new naming rights sponsorship with fintech company XTB that will run throughout 2023.

The co-main event of XTB KSW 77 will see the exciting trilogy fight between KSW bantamweight champion Sebastian Przybysz (10-2) and Jakub Wikłacz (13-3-1) as the Polish duo look to settle their score once and for all.
