Marion Reneau talks Raquel Pennington fight, PE during lockdown, more

Marion Reneau is set to take on Raquel Pennington at this weekend’s UFC Vegas 3. The fight marks the end of an over year long layoff for Reneau.
This fight marks Reneau’s third attempt to come back to the cage after fights with Irene Aldana and Ketlen Vieira fell through. Pennington marks another big name offered to the veteran and it’s a matchup Reneau feels favors herself.
“I like it,” Reneau said of the matchup. “She’s a Muay Thai style fighter. She’s predominantly stand-up. I think that fits both of our styles.”
Although Pennington is a big name that could potentially lead to a title shot, Reneau is adamant that the title isn’t the priority right now. It’s about taking things one fight at a time.
“Sure the title is a great focal point to have, but it’s not something that you need to drain your worries on. Right now my worries are fighting and slowly but surely working my way to the top.”
In this interview Reneau also talks about what it was like teaching PE during the lockdown, training for the fight, and much more.
