Official Result: Matheus Scheffel def. Bruno Cappelozza via unanimous decision (29-28, 29-28, 29-28)
Cappelozza opens up the bout looking very sharp on the feet, getting his leg kicks and straight punches going. Every single strike he throws, he’s truly intending to hurt Scheffel.
However, Scheffel is able to land a hard overhand that stuns Cappelozza badly, and follows up with a huge barrage of punches. He keeps Cappelozza hurt, but is unable to secure the finish in the first, eliminating his playoff hopes.
Scheffel begins to have more success in the second, picking up where he left off at the end of the first, though he doesn’t put Cappelozza in danger like he did through the first five.
More of the same happens in the third, as Scheffel controls most of the action throughout the final five minutes.
Cappelozza does land some hard shots of his own, but it wasn’t enough to secure victory tonight, as Scheffel upsets him via unanimous decision.
