UFC middleweight champ Michael Bisping recovering after minor procedure to knee
No, the recently announced UFC middleweight title bout between champion Michael Bisping and the returning former welterweight champion Georges St-Pierre is not in jeopardy, however, Bisping is currently resting after undergoing a minor procedure earlier today.
Bisping took to social media to say:
“Just had a little final procedure done to my knee to help it help long term. No recovery, I’ll be in the gym later today, but I was sedated. They took fat from my stomach (liposuction) and injected it into my knee. Cutting edge stuff. Thank you @stevemoramd for helping and also for eliminating the need for some sit ups 🙂 win, win!”
Get well soon champ
A date and venue for the GSP title fight has yet to be announced although it is expected to take place later this summer at the earliest.
Bisping (30-7) won the title in June 2016 after knocking out former champ Luke Rockhold. GSP walked away from the sport as champion in November 2013.
