Miesha Tate tests positive for COVID-19, UFC headlining fight postponed
Former UFC women’s bantamweight champion Miesha Tate has tested positive for COVID-19 and will have her UFC Fight Night (UFC Vegas 40) headlining bout against Ketlen Vieira rescheduled for a later date. Sherdog.com was first to report the news, stating that the fight will be pushed back until November although the exact event at which the fight will take place has not yet been confirmed.
Tate, who returned to action earlier this year after nearly five years away from the sport, has not yet made a public comment about her status.
The former champion defeated Marion Reneau by way of third round TKO at her comeback fight in July, bringing her already accomplished professional mixed martial arts record to 19-7.
Vieira is coming off a loss to Yana Kunitskaya in February.
