Miesha Tate makes first title defense at UFC 200
Newly crowned UFC women’s bantamweight champion Miesha Tate will make her first title defense on July 9 at UFC 200 in Las Vegas.
Tate (18-5) will defend against Amanda Nunes.
The champion is riding a five-fight win-steak to include her March 5, UFC 196 submission win over former champion Holly Holm. With the win Tate became just the third female fighter to hold the title joining the likes of Holm and Ronda Rousey.
Nunes (12-4) has three consecutive victories to include wins over Shayna Baszler, Sara McMann, and Valentina Shevchenko.
UFC 200 is headlined by a welterweight rematch between Conor McGregor and Nate Diaz and co-headlined by a UFC featherweight interim title bout rematch between former champion Jose Aldo and Frankie Edgar.
