Miguel Baeza vs. Dhiego Lima set for April Fight Night event
Miguel Baeza will look to get back on track.
Baeza is set to return on a Fight Night card on April 16 against Dhiego Lima, according to BestFightPicks on Twitter and later confirmed by several outlets. The event does not have a location or main event at this time.
Miguel Baeza (10-2) is coming off back-to-back losses as back in November he was knocked out by Khaos Williams in the third round in a very competitive fight. Prior to that, he got a big step up in competition and dropped a decision to Santiago Ponzinibbio in June in a Fight of the Night contender.
The 29-year-old earned his way into the UFC after defeating Victory Reyna by decision on the Contender Series in 2019. He then made his Octagon debut in October where he scored a TKO victory over Hector Aldana. Baeza followed that up with a KO win over Matt Brown in May of 2020 in a very impressive performance.
Dhiego Lima (15-9), is also on a two-fight losing streak as he’s coming off a KO loss to Matt Brown in June of this year. Prior to that, he suffered a decision loss to Belal Muhammad at UFC 258. The losses snapped his three-fight losing skid where he beat Luke Jumeau by split decision, Court McGee by split decision, and a KO win over Chad Laprise.
Lima won TUF 25 to earn his way back into the Octagon after getting released from the promotion after going 1-3 in the UFC from 2014-2015. In his career, he holds notable wins over Ricky Rainey, David Michaud, Antonio Trocoli, while on TUF he earned wins over Hayder Hassan, Tim Williams, and Gilbert Smith among others in his two stints on TUF.
With the addition of Miguel Baeza vs. Dhiego Lima, the April 16 card is as follows:
- Drakkar Klose vs. Brandon Jenkins
- Miguel Baeza vs. Dhiego Lima
- Jesse Ronson vs. Rafa Garcia
