Mike Breeden praises James Krause, looking for UFC opportunity
Dana White’s Contender Series veteran, Mike Breeden, added another impressive win to his resume at FAC 8. Now a winner of two straight since the DWCS loss, Breeden is eyeing future opportunities this summer.
“It feels great,” Breeden began. “Especially this one, not having to think about it. Got a call, my teammate got injured, hey you wanna fight? I said yeah. I’ve been training, so let’s go. I didn’t have much time to think about it. Have fun mixing it up a little bit.”
Breeden is a member of Glory MMA & Fitness, coached under the great James Krause. The Glory team has had a strong year plus, from short notice opportunities, title fights, the regional scene and more. Krause has continued to push his name into the short list of best coaches today in the sport.
“James Krause built something special,” Breeden told MyMMANews. “The team he has built around him, all the coaches as well. He demands a schedule from us, you stick to it you see the results,” Breeden continued. “You buy what he’s selling, sky is the limit.”
Breeden is well aware that the Contender Series is returning this summer. Last season he and Anthony Romero graced us with a battle, whom many believed could have been between two UFC fighters then, and neither were signed. Breeden is open to Contender Series, but would love to get in without the show.
“I’d love to get straight in,” Breeden stated on the UFC. “I’ll take it however I get it. Straight in on a last minute notice. I had the opportunity, but I was just too heavy. I didn’t want to miss weight my first fight in the UFC. I’ll be ready for the next one. If it doesn’t happen, Contenders line it up.”
