Modestas Bukauskas talks recent win and success in second UFC stint
Modestas Bukauskas has been a completely different fighter during his second UFC stint.
The first time Bukauskas ever stepped inside of the octagon, he picked up a win, but that was his only success.
Following that win, Bukauskas would go on to lose three fights in a row and in his last fight, he suffered a really bad knee injury which would require surgery.
As if the knee wasn’t bad enough, Bukauskas was also released by the promotion.
Bukauskas calls that moment the darkest time of his life, but those dark times would eventually find light.
The knee surgery Bukauskas had was not only successful, but it fixed all of the knee problems Bukauskas had been having throughout of his career.
Now on fresh legs for the first time in years, Bukauskas also felt that he matured as fighter as the UFC experience was an eye opener to him and he knew if he made just a few minor adjustments, he could make a run back towards the UFC.
After 13 months away from the fight game following the knee surgery, Bukauskas fought in the Cage Warriors promotion and he would go on to win both of his fights with the organization.
Those wins, would get him back into the UFC and this time, he made sure things would be different.
In won his fight back in the UFC by beating Tyson Pedro by a unanimous decision.
Then, on June 17, Bukauskas fought at UFC Vegas 75 against Zac Pauga and “The Baltic Gladiator” had another good showing.
Bukauskas was able to avoid Pauga’s game plan to grapple and he was able to out strike Pauga to once again earn another UFC win.
Following UFC Vegas 75, Bukauskas spoke with MyMMANews about his win over Pauga, his success since the UFC cut him and what’s next for him in his career.
