Mohamad Ghorabi misses weight, released from Brave CF contract
Brave 21 suffered a late-notice withdrawal as Mohamad Ghorabi was unable to make weight for his bout against Mehdi Baghdad at Super Lightweight and the fight was canceled, as they couldn’t reach an agreement. Ghorabi was more than nine pounds too heavy and has been released from his contract with Brave Combat Federation effective immediately.
Meanwhile, in the opening bout, Mohammed Gamal was also forced to withdraw after not making weight, but he will be replaced by Mohammed Doghani.
Fighting out of Saudi Arabia by way of Syria, Doghani will be making his professional debut on short notice, in a catchweight of 69 kg against Ahmed Makki, who remains on the card but facing a different opponent.
Brave 21 will be headlined by a Featherweight match-up between Jeremy Kennedy and Marat Magomedov. The winner could face champion Bubba Jenkins next. The promotion’s first trip to Saudi Arabia marks the end of an unforgettable year in which Brave has traveled to 12 different countries for 12 events.
