Molly McCann and Taila Santos are meeting to “Fight Island” on July 15.
The women’s flyweight matchup will take place on one of four UFC events on Yas Island in Abu Dhabi. First reported by MMA reporter Jim Edwards, the bout has not been made official by the promotion.

Molly McCann is on a three-fight win streak since losing her UFC debut to Gillian Robertson in May 2018. “Meatball” most recently defeated Diana Belbita by unanimous decision at UFC on ESPN 6 in October 2019. She also holds victories over Ariane Lipski and Priscila Cachoeira during the win streak.
It’s been a year since Santos last fought inside the octagon. She lost a split decision to Mara Romero Borella in her UFC debut in February 2019.
Since then, three of Santo’s potential bouts fell through. She was set to face Ashlee Evans Smith in August 2019, but Evans withdrew after suffering an injury. Santos suffered an injury shortly after, bowing out of a fight with Ariane Camelossi.
She was slated to fight Robertson at UFC Fight Night on June 20. The bout was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Santos earned a contract after beating Estefani Almeida on Dana White’s Contender Series in August 2018.
