Being a Lumpinee Stadium Muay Thai World Champion, Mongkolpetch Petchyindee is undeniably one of the finest Muay Thai artists in the world. He spoke with ONE Championship officials ahead of this weekend’s contest and in excerpt from that discussion below, the dangerous striker states that he has found weakness in his upcoming opponent.
Mongkolpetch, how do you evaluate your opponent? What weaknesses do you see here in Haggerty?
Mongkolpetch: “For his weakness, there are two things that I see. First is the abdominal area. Second is the legs. There are two things that I’m going to do. I’m going to punch his body and then kick his legs.”
Not one to just sit there and take the direct insult, Haggerty was offered a chance to respond.
Jonathan, that’s very specific. That’s very direct. What do you say to that?
Jonathan Haggerty: “You know you gotta close to me first, mate. And I think that’s very dangerous. And we’ve been working on things because we know obviously because he’s been saying a lot now, which is a load of bollocks. Oh, language, sorry. So yeah, no, he is coming into the danger zone if he thinks he can do that, so let’s see.”
