“Mr. Finland” Signed By UFC – Debut Set For Stockholm
The UFC always does their best to appease to the fans and give them what they desire. After all, the customer is always the key to success for a business. The latest UFC signing might be one for for the ladies.
Lightweight fighter Makwan “Mr. Finland” Amirkhani announced on his facebook page that he has signed with the UFC and will make his debut on the UFC card in Sweden, on January 24.
Amirkhani (10-2), is a very charismatic fighter, some might say “over confident” and “cocky”. He is known for his handsome looks, and is considered Findland’s version of Japan’s Yoshihiro “Sexyama” Akiyama, in the aspect of being a good looking fighter. “Mr. Finland” does flaunt technique and skills in the ring though. Out of his 10 wins, Amirkhani has won eight via submission, an 80% finish rate.
The UFC has not released an official statement yet in the signing, however, a one-fight deal would make perfect sense as Finland is Sweden’s next door neighbor, and adding a popular fighter around that area to the card would draw more interest to the fans in that region. If Amirkhani’s performance in the octagon could back up all of his confidence, perhaps we could see the “Norse” version of a Connor McGregor. No opponent has been announced yet according to Amirkhani’s social media page.*****
