Nasrat Haqparast vs. Dan Hooker at UFC 266 in jeopardy as Haqparast pleads for ‘last chance’ to get visa
Nasrat Haqparast is now dealing with last-minute visa issues.
Recently, Dan Hooker came out on social media to plea with the US Embassy in New Zealand to get his visa, and due to the support on social media, he ended up getting it. When he got the visa, it seemed like the fight against Haqparast is a done deal at UFC 266, yet, the German now reveals he is dealing with his own visa issues.
“Dear @usconsfrankfurt this is my last chance to make my fight on Saturday #UFC266 happen. I’m waiting for my Visa approval and I kindly ask to pick up my passport and visa. I understand that due to COVID 19 it’s difficult for the visa process right now but this is my last chance. I tried to call and email a couple times. I’m ready to fly out on last notice and cut weight on Thursday evening , weigh in Friday and fight Saturday. I just need my Visa approved and passport back please. I only needed a new P1 visa because I came back to Germany and left Los Angeles – last Thursday for the funeral of my mother. The @ufc gave everything for expedited visa process,” Haqparast wrote on Twitter.
The news caught many by surprise and Nasrat Haqparast’s UFC 266 opponent, Dan Hooker RT’d Haqparast’s plea to get his visa to allow the fight to happen.
