New date, location for Nate Diaz vs. Jorge Masvidal boxing match
The boxing match between former UFC stars and rivals Nate Diaz and Jorge Masvidal has been moved to a new date and location.
Originally set for June 1 at the Kia Forum in Inglewood, California, the rematch of sorts now takes place on Saturday, July 6, with at the Honda Center in Anaheim.
The move was made allegedly to avoid possible conflict with UFC 302 as well as a boxing match already scheduled on the same day.
In the UFC 302 main event from Newark, New Jersey, UFC lightweight champion Islam Makhachev defends his title against Dustin Poirier. That same day, Dmitry Bivol returns to action for a boxing match with Malik Zinad after his original opponent Artur Beterbiev suffered an injury in training that forced him out of the fight.
In November 2019, Masvidal defeated Diaz in the UFC 244 main event as the two men battled for the promotion’s BMF title. Doctors would stop the contest due to a cut.
