New Venum UFC fight kits leaked (Photo)

The UFC has done away with their five-year fight kit partnership with Reebok. It was announced last year that the UFC will be making the move from Reebok to their new partner Venum in 2021. The release of the new kits is scheduled for April, but a photo has been leaked that possibly shows what the new uniforms will look like.

This photo was taken as a screengrab off of Aljamian Sterlings Instagram. It seems as if he and Brian Ortega are shooting some promos for the new clothing line. In the past, the clothing line has been very colorful and loud. Many MMA fans were hoping they would be bringing this flamboyant design into the UFC, but that does not seem to be the case. From the picture, it seems fighters will have a choice of plain white or black kits. They do have the signature snake design and some other light embellishments.

When this deal was announced, Dana White had nothing but good things to say about the brand.

“We’re pumped that VENUM will be joining us as our new exclusive global outfitting and apparel partner,” UFC President Dana White said. “VENUM is an Iconic combat sports brand that understands the unique needs of MMA athletes. Franck Dupuis and his team at VENUM have the technical knowledge and experience that will produce world-class UFC Fight Kits and apparel. We’re looking forward to collaborating with them on this next evolution of UFC’s outfitting program.”

Not only was the idea that this new partnership would bring a new look to the fight kits, but that it would also bring more money to the fighters. When the Reebok deal was announced, it took away the opportunity for fighters to wear sponsorship inside the Octagon. The deal was supposed to make up for the loss of earnings this brought on but many fighters were unhappy with it.

There will still be an official launch of the new Venum line in full this April.
