Former flyweight champion Nicco Montano will face Julia Avila in what will be a rematch of their 2017 fight in HD MMA. In their first meeting, Avila picked up a unanimous decision win to claim the HD MMA women’s bantamweight title.

Nicco Montano (4-3) won the inaugural flyweight championship as part of Season 26 of “The Ultimate Fighter” in 2017. She was later stripped of her title before making a title defense, as she was dealing with injuries and weight cutting issues. Montano returned to bantamweight last July, losing a unanimous decision to Julianna Peña.
Julia Avila (8-1) is 2-0 in her UFC career. She is coming off a 22-second finish over Gina Mazany last weekend at UFC on ESPN 10.
The UFC’s Aug. 8 event will be headlined by a heavyweight fight between Derrick Lewis and Aleksei Oleinik. Also former UFC middleweight champion Chris Weidman will return to 185 pounds to fight Omari Arkmedov. The event does not have an official location at this time.
